How big our Universe is?

How big our Universe is?

How big our Universe is?

This is a Real-Life Lore video made possible by Squarespace. Make your next move with a beautiful website from Squarespace. This is Earth. You live here on this planet somewhere and everything that you've ever known is located right here, but just how small exactly is Earth when compared to the scale of the entire universe?

How big our Universe is?

Let's start by zooming out to where we can see our nearest cosmic neighbor, The Moon. You may think that the moon is very close to Earth since it dominates our night skies. But in reality the moon isn't this close to our planet, it's actually about this far away. 384,400 kilometers away from you right now on average. You could fit 30 entire Earths in between this distance and if you somehow were able to drive a car at a constant 100 km/h speed, it would take you about 160 days to drive the entire distance. Despite this incredible distance however, 12 humans have actually set foot here representing the farthest away that any individual human has ever been away from the Earth and one of humanity's greatest achievements.

How big our Universe is?

This is what the Earth would look like from there, if you were standing there with them. And if you wanted to communicate with somebody back at home, it would take a message about 2 1/2 seconds to travel between you and them since that's how fast the speed of light can travel at. This is a photo that was taken on Mars and that tiny dot that you see there is Earth as seen from the Martian surface. On average, Mars is an incredible 225 million kilometers away from Earth but that distance can be as high as 401 million kilometers That means that whenever humanity finally gets around to landing a human on a planet, that person will be 986 times further away from Earth than the astronauts who landed on the moon were. In addition the time delay for sending a message from Mars back to Earth isn't just two and a half seconds, it's actually more like 20 minutes each direction. Which would render instant communication in the event of an emergency impossible. When we zoom out even further away we can find the Voyager 1 space probe, which is the farthest away man-made object from Earth it is currently located 138 AU's from The Earth. AU meaning astronomical unit, which is the distance between the Earth and the Sun, which means that Voyager 1 is 138 times further away from us than the Sun is. At some point on its long voyage, Voyager 1 turned its camera around and took this photograph. It may not look like much at first, but in my opinion this is the greatest single photograph ever taken in all of human history. This tiny pale blue dot is Earth and I don't think that anybody has ever said something as amazing about this as Carl Sagan when he said, "If you look at it, you see a dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever lived, lived out their lives. The aggregate of all our joys and sufferings. Thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines. Every hunter and every forager. Every hero and coward. Every creator and destroyer of civilizations. Every king and every peasant. Every young couple in love. Every hopeful child. Every mother and every father. Every inventor and explorer. Every teacher of morals. Every corrupt politician. Every superstar. Every Supreme Leader. Every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there, on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam." Voyager 1 is currently traveling at 17 kilometers every single second, but even at that speed it won't break out of the reach of our solar system for another 30,000 years. Once we go beyond the solar system, we arrive in our interstellar neighborhood. Here we shift to the Lightyear unit of measurement which is the distance that light travels in a full earth year or about 9.461 trillion kilometers. The star Proxima Centauri here, is the closest other star to us other than our Sun, but it's still 4.24 light-years away from us. To put that into perspective, if it was heading in the right direction, it would still take Voyager 1 over 70,000 years to reach it. In other words, if you drove your car at 100 kilometers an hour like in our previous example to The Moon it would take over six times longer than the entire age of the universe is just to finally get there and it wouldn't even exist still when you arrived. When we zoom out even further, we can see the entire Milky Way galaxy. Inside of which, Earth is located right here. This yellow dot is the farthest extent of humanity's radio broadcasts throughout history. Which means that any possible aliens who live outside of this range are totally unaware of humanity's presence. It's complete silence outside of this yellow dot as far as we are currently aware, but the entire galaxy spans over 100,000 light-years from end to end. There are over 100 billion stars and over 100 billion planets inside of our galaxy, but you have never seen the full glory of the galaxy at night. Because 99% of the stars that you can see with the naked eye are limited to this small tiny region right here. But even this massive galaxy is nothing compared to the rest of what's out to there. Zooming out even further and we arrive at the local group of galaxies. A collection of 54 different galaxies that is about 10 million light-years across. But zooming out even further and we can see the Virgo Supercluster. Of which the local group here is just a tiny segment of. There are at least 100 other groups of galaxies just like our own local group inside of here. And the distance from one side to the other is a mind-numbing 110 million light-years But even the massive Virgo supercluster is nothing but a quiet and tiny lobe of the great Laniakea Supercluster. An enormous structure that is home to our galaxies as well as 100,000 other galaxies. The distance from one side to the other is 520 million light-years. But from even there, we can zoom out all the way to the entire observable universe and see that even the Titanic Laniakea Supercluster is just a tiny and insignificant part of everything. This is the observable universe and it contains everything that we know of. It is home to at least 2 trillion different individual galaxies. Which together contain more stars than there are grains of sand on the entire Earth. The distance from Earth to any side of the observable universe is 46.5 billion light-years. Which means that the entire width is 93 billion light-years across. What's perhaps even more interesting however is what actually lies beyond the observable universe. Keep in mind that the observable universe is all that we can currently see. And it's entirely possible that the rest of the universe outside of it is vastly larger and more fantastic than we can possibly ever imagine. We simply don't know what else is out there. Because the light from these incredibly distant places has not yet had enough time in the universe's history to reach us yet, back on Earth and the light from some places may never reach us at all. Because some parts of space very far away from Earth are expanding away from us faster than the speed of light. That means that the light from these places will never in an infinite amount of time, reach Earth. Meaning that even if Humanity is eternal and exists forever, there will still be an unknown number of places in the universe that we will never know about or ever see. So it is very likely that It's unbelievably enormous as it seems, the observable universe is just a tiny slice of what we can currently see of the entire universe. According to the Theory of Cosmic Inflation that was proposed by Dr. Alan Guth. If it is assumed that cosmic inflation began at 10 to the -37th of a second after the Big Bang and with the assumption that the size of the universe before inflation began was equal to its age times the speed of light. Then this would seem to suggest that at the present day, the entire universe is 150 sextillion times larger than the observable universe. That number for reference looks like this. With this many zeros, let this number sink in for just a moment. This would be similar to you thinking that the entire observable universe. Everything that you could see was the size of a light bulb, but then realizing that in reality, the entire universe is larger than the former planet of Pluto. Imagine a light bulb in the center of Pluto, but we inside the light bulb we're totally unaware that Pluto existed outside of it. And that's a similar situation to this. We are all so unbelievably small, but you shouldn't worry, because all that means is that there is so much left out there for us to discover together. This video was made possible by Squarespace. What is DNA?

 What is DNA?

What is DNA?

Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA for short is the molecule that carries the genetic information in all living organisms In terms of structure, DNA's a polymer that's made of four sub-units known simply as A (adenine), C (cytosine), T (thymine), and G (guanine) Each of these sub-units has three main components: a unique nitrogenous base, a phosphate group, and a sugar They connect together through their phosphate groups to form these long polymer chains, which are the basis of DNA The order of the sub-units is extremely important and it's how the genetic information is stored It gets a little more complicated though because DNA isn't just one chain, it's actually two and they're held together by interactions between the nitrogenous bases This interaction is known as hydrogen bonding Where A likes to pair with T and C with G This hydrogen bonding along with various other intermolecular forces twists the DNA into its characteristic ladder-like structure known as a double helix In this double stranded system, the cell only reads the information from one strand and the other is kept as a backup For example, if a mutation occurs and let's say a C is swapped for an A, the cell can recognize and fix this because the A wouldn't properly pair with the G Or maybe if some sort of damage occurs to a large section of one strand the cell can simply cut it out and rebuild it based on the other one This is not how DNA looks in the cell though. It's associated with a whole ton of proteins that pack it together into a super small volume It progressively gets packed tighter and tighter until we eventually get something called a chromosome which is the smallest DNA base structure that you can see under a typical microscope Each chromosome contains a different set of genes and the number of chromosomes varies widely among plants and animals For humans, we have 23 pairs of chromosomes, so 46 in total. What might be interesting is that the number of chromosomes doesn't have any thing really to do with the sophistication of the organism For example, a typical potato has 48 so two more than a human What i think is really cool is that it's actually possible to isolate DNA from pretty much any living thing For this video though I've decided to get it from strawberries because it's one of the easiest sources Also at the end, once I've isolated the pure DNA, I'm gonna try it out because I'm really interested to know what it tastes like Anyways in terms of supplies I'll of course need some strawberries but I'll also be using some dish soap non-Iodized salt And 99% isopropyl alcohol Before I get started with the main process, there are a couple things I need to do first The isopropyl alcohol will be used later on but it needs to be ice cold so i measure out about 200 milliliters and then I put it in the freezer I also need to prepare a soapy salt solution to do this i mix a hundred and eighty milliliters of water 20 milliliters of dish Soap and about a teaspoon of salt Ideally, the soap that's used is both uncoloured and unscented but unfortunately I wasn't able to find this What I ended up using was this red strawberry scented soap because i figured both the color and the smell would be masked by the strawberries The table salt should also be non-iodized but it will work if only regular iodized salt is available   What we're doing here is making a so called "extraction solution" that we'll be using to get the DNA out of the cells For now, it's going to be temporarily placed on the side But when I use it in a few minutes i'll explain exactly how it works Okay with that other stuff out of the way, we can get started with the actual procedure! I counted out 10 moderately sized strawberries and then I shoved them all into a seal-able bag One thing I should mention is that this preparation really doesn't need gloves and I'm not really sure why i'm wearing them for it (silly Nile) Anyway, with all the strawberries in the bag, it's time to squish them By doing this, I'm exposing as many of the strawberry cells as possible and I'm also structurally damaging them This crushing step is really easy to do with strawberries and it's a major reason why I'm using them It's common to extract DNA from other things like chicken liver or peas, but they don't fall apart nearly as easily and you often need to use a blender After a few minutes, things should be adequately broken up so it's time to add the soapy extraction solution from before Then I mix it around and try to break up any pieces that I might have missed It really doesn't look like much as going on here but it's actually the most important step in the extraction, which is getting the DNA out of the cells For plant cells, which strawberries are made of, this is the general anatomy There's a whole bunch of stuff here that's not relevant and I really want you to just focus on the three main things: the cell wall, the cell membrane, and the nuclear membrane The cell wall is a rigid sugar layer that's usually made of cellulose and the other membranes are made of things called phospholipids
What is DNA?

is stored in the nucleus, so to get to it we need to destroy all three of these barriers The first to go was the cell wall, which was broken when I pulverized the strawberries This exposes the cell membrane, which as i mentioned a second ago is made of phospholipids The phospholipids organize themselves into a bilayer like this: where the polar heads are on the outside and the non-polar tails are shielded on the inside Soap itself is very similar to the phospholipids where it has a polar head but it only has one non-polar tail The structural difference is small, but , in water, it causes soap to form spherical structures called micelles instead of these bilayers Even though they form these very different and distinct structures, they're still similar enough that they want to interact with each other When the soap is added, it starts plucking phospholipids and proteins from the cell membrane and incorporating it into its own micelles. Also, to some degree, the soap molecules will insert themselves into the membrane This ultimately leads to severe damage of the lipid bilayer and it makes it structurally unstable With further squishing the membrane bursts open and the contents of the cell are spilled out This releases the nuclear membrane which is the last thing to get through and it's just like the cell membrane The soap messes with the lipid bilayer causing it to burst and the DNA is released Although the cells are just spitting out DNA we don't actually see it here because it stays dissolved in the water As I mentioned in the intro though the DNA is tightly packed and associated with a lot of different proteins Many of the proteins have positive charges which interact with the negative charges of the phosphates in DNA This is why we add the sodium chloride. The sodium ion can come in and displace a lot of these proteins For me i felt this salt was good enough but a lot of People also include some protein enzymes to further free up the DNA After a few minutes of squishing I now need to filter off all the solid strawberry junk This is done in two steps. First through a strainer to get rid of the really large pieces and then through a coffee filter to get rid of the smaller stuff This part is really slow so It requires some patience Also the filter tends to get jammed up so i needed to replace It at least three or four times Once everything passes through though we are ready to isolate the DNA So to do this, I get the ice-cold isopropyl alcohol from earlier and I dump it all in Very quickly there's a bunch of This white stringy stuff floating to the top and this is the DNA However there are probably some proteins that precipitate out as well I try to pull some out with tweezers but It doesn't really work I also try scooping It out with a spoon but that had problems as well So instead i just mix things up and I waited for all the DNA to float to the top After several minutes it was much more compact and clumped up so It was a lot easier to scoop out I transferred it to a coffee filter and i waited for most of the liquid to drain through Then It was thoroughly washed several times with cold isopropyl alcohol Afterwards I was left with this soft and gooey DNA but now i need to wait for the alcohol to evaporate I put It on a piece of paper and It took about a day or so for all the alcohol to disappear By the time it fully dried it had turned slightly brown and it was quite hard I imagined the brown color is just due to oxidation of some impurities that were extracted along with the DNA However I'm not entirely sure Just to show you how hard it is, I dropped it on a watch glass and you can hear the clinking sound that it makes The mass of the DNA here is about 250 milligrams and I got this from 10 strawberries so each one contains about 25 milligrams Because the DNA is made of lots of long fibers it's surprisingly strong It was a lot easier just to use my fingers and tear It up like a piece of paper but it still wasn't the easiest thing to do I decided to try chopping up some of the pieces again and i was honestly impressed with just how much force it took anyway now I think it's time to try eating it Okay so here i have the DNA that I extracted and it's this very small amount in the bag I'm just gonna take out small little piece now give it a taste Ah! [Spits] It has a There's a really terrible, terrible texture At first it's just hard but after it just kind of gets slimy and it just tastes kind of salty. Doesn't have anything else besides that I think the salt is either from salt i didn't wash off after the extraction or it's actually from the sodium ions that are associated with the DNA in either case the flavor isn't too strong but it's just vaguely salty slimy and gross As usual, a big thanks goes out to all my supporters on Patreon Everyone who supports me can see my videos at least 24 Hours before I post it to YouTube and they can also directly message me All supporters with five dollars or more will get their name at the end of the video like you see here

Scholarship for higher education

 Scholarship for higher education

Scholarship for higher education

Thank you for attending our webinar todayon how to get scholarships presented by International Student loan. My name is Bryanna Davis andIím the Marketing Coordinator here at International Student Loan and today I am here with VictoriaTroupe, who is another Marketing Coordinator as well as our Director of Financial Services,Jennifer Frankel. So before we get started I would like to mentionthat if you have any questions throughout the webinar, please feel free to send thosein free through the webinar chat feature or you can jump on Twitter. Our handle is @InternationalStudentLoansand you can join the conversation by tweeting #FiniancialAidTalk. Please feel free to askquestions throughout the webinar and we will address them at the end of our program.First of all we are going to talk about what scholarships are, how to find them and howto apply. We will share some tips and tricks to make your application stand out, followedby a question and answer portion. Essentially a scholarship is free money. Itísnot money to use anywhere, of course itís for education and in most cases ñ in mostof your cases it will be used for international education. The great thing about using scholarshipsvs. personal funding or loans is that scholarships donít need to be repaid. Once again, itísfree money for school that you wonít be expected to repay later, making it a great option tofund your education. Just because scholarships are free doesnít make them easy to get anda lot of work is involved and we are here to give you advice on your scholarship journey.First we are going to look at different types of scholarships, but keep in mind there aretwo different places to look for all kinds of scholarships: your institution and privatemeans. So first we have the academic scholarship. This option is usually based on your GPA orcertain test scores such as the SAT, ACT or similar tests. Typically there will be differentrequirements within this type of scholarship but donít assume you will be eliminated simplybecause you donít have the best GPA, so itís always good to keep this option open. Nextwe have athletic scholarships. If you excel in a sport then take advantage and see whatscholarship options are available through your school and private institutions. Gettingan athletic scholarship at your school can be advantageous because not only do you getpaid to play the sport, you also have the opportunity to represent your school throughthat sport. Next we have special interests. Perhaps youare very passionate about choir or art or you play a musical instrument. You will wantto see if there are any special interest scholarships available. The best part about this type ofscholarship is the fact that there wonít typically be as many people applying as opposedto a general school scholarship. Situational scholarships have a few categories;the first is based on income. If you can show that there is a need for financial aid, thenyou want to find scholarships who will grant you money based on that. Next is achievement.Perhaps you are active in the volunteer world or within different organizations and mayeven hold offices within those organizations. You will want to stress your achievement whenapplying for those kinds of awards. Then we have field of study. If you are studyingbiology or nursing for example, you will want to find what kinds of scholarships are availablebased on the field of study you plan on pursuing. Later we will discuss how to find these differenttypes of scholarships, especially this kind because there are many different outlets tofind scholarships. Next we have country specific. This can goboth ways, meaning you could find a scholarship based on where you are from or the countrythat you are going to study in. Finally, we have school specific scholarships. These aregiven based on the fact that you will be attending the school, making it a very basic yet greatopportunity. You may also be able to find a scholarship at your school based on thefact that you are an international student, so thatís another outlet that you will wantto look at. So next weíre going to look at how you findscholarships and so Iím going to hand the mike over to Jennifer Frankel.Jennifer: When searching for scholarships itís importantto think about who you are and what sets you apart from everyone else. To help you do thisweíve compiled a list of to ask yourself what helps you stand out. What are your interests? What are you good at?What makes you stand out? What are your skills?Think about awards you have received in the past ñ perhaps different awards or meritsbased on skills or interests you may have. Additionally you will want to think aboutwhere you are from. There are many scholarships out there that will be based on either yourhome country or governmental scholarships. Think about this as you consider differentscholarships to apply for. There are two kinds of scholarships: needbased and merit based. Be sure to identify which you should apply to. If you do not needthe money then you wonít qualify for the academic based need scholarships, so focusmore on the merit awards. Additionally, itís important to think about your academics. Whatare you studying? Biology or chemistry? What is it that you enjoy doing and want to carryon throughout your academic career? What school are you attending? Many universities and collegesdo award scholarships when the student initially arrives or based on their performance in theschool. Finally, what is it that you are studying? As I mentioned, if you choose to study biologyyou may be able to talk to the department for additional funds or there are additionalinstitutions that can give you money as well. The stem, which is science, engineering, technologyand mathematics are all really great areas of study with a high demand. So if you dochoose to study in one of those areas you are at a higher chance for a scholarship award. So now that you know yourself after you have asked yourself all of those questions, thenext thing to cover is: where can you look for scholarship funding? The first place mostinternational students start with is their college or university. When you submit yourapplication, depending on the school, you will be applying through the admissions department. It is in this department that you can ëopt iní for different kinds of scholarships.Itís important to talk to your admissions department to ensure you have submitted thecorrect paperwork and check the deadlines. You will also want to talk to your internationalcenter. It can be a great resource for you because usually, you will be assigned an internationalstudent advisor who will be able to guide you throughout your education. Talk with thisadvisor and befriend him because they will be knowledgeable about campus awards becausethey deal with this on a regular basis ñitís their job.The next place to touch base with on the university level is your department of study. Whetherthatís the business school or humanities department, talk to them and let them knowwhat your passions are and where you want to take your education. This could end upleaving you with extra funds. Being partial scholarships or even a full-ride.There are also many students who attend universities in the US with academic or athletic departmentscholarships. These awards are usually given by the coach. Basketball, football, soccer, all of these are relevant areas of athletics where you can get awards to help you continuewith your education. Many of these are great scholarships so be sure to talk to the coachand look for organizations who can get you in touch with those coaches to whom you couldshowcase your skills and possibly lead to a scholarship.A large area that continues to grow is home country government awards as well as hostcountry government awards. If you are from Brazil or Saudi Arabia or Iraq for example, many of your home countries to provide funds to help students in exchange programs. Makesure to look at the government of your home country to see if they support internationalexchange funding as we are seeing a higher trend. As I mentioned, there are host country government awards also. So if you are coming to the USAfor example, there is an organization called Education USA that provides extra fundingfor you. Finally, there are international organizations. These include nonprofit organizations, international organizations, and multinational companies. All of these organizations canprovide different funding options for international students, depending on their mission.Itís important to keep your eyes and options open when looking for scholarships, but thisis easier said than done. I am going to show you a few different websites that can helpyou compile all of the different available awards. First is www.iefa.org. Here thereare a number of different awards for scholarships. In fact, you can search grants and scholarships, all of which you can narrow down by selecting the award name if you already know it. Alternately, you can find scholarships by entering where and what youíre studying and where you arefrom. You would simply click down. Letís say weíre studying aviation. We can quicklysearch and view available awards based on interest. It will also show us our nationalityand location so we can see which awards are available for whom.Another website than can be of help is www.fundingusstudy.org. Here you can search by program, sponsor organization, area of study, state location and region. So for example, if you want to come to Floridaor perhaps you are already studying in Florida, you can click and see 15 different programsfrom graduate and undergraduate scholarships and merit scholarships ñ making this a greatresource to find funding for your international education and you will never be given matchesfor domestic students. The third area that I would like to pointout is www.internationalscholarships.com. This website also allows you to search byvarious criteria including your field of study, where you are from and where you are going. There is also an area where you can search by ëindependent award listing.í This functionmakes searching for awards specific to your institution simple. Once you find the awardyou would like to search for click it and you will be able to view an overview of theaward and then ëregister nowí to contact the administration for more information. NowIím going to turn it over to Victoria Troupe to talk about your application and everythingyou need to get together to ensure your application is clear, concise and memorable.Tori: After you find a scholarship that you thinkyou qualify for the next question is how do you make your application  stand out above the competition? On the slidein front of us is an example on the right hand side of a typical scholarship requirementand 5 things that are generally required in an application. The first is the essay. Sometimes the topicis assigned, not always, but this is the most important piece of the application. Secondly, you need to submit a resume or CV with your application as well along with transcripts. You will notice on the example here that you are required to have an average grade of aìBî or better in previous coursework. That means that you will have to submit your transcripts.Additionally, letters of recommendation are required and sometimes there will be an applicationfee, so that is something to keep in mind also. Like I mentioned earlier, the essay is themost important piece of the scholarship application. An essay or other written submission is oftentimesthe only time the decision committee will hear your perspective on why you feel youdeserve the scholarship. Itís important to make it as compelling as possible. Sometimesyou can look over the winners of past scholarships so that you can see what the judges are reallylooking for. The best thing you can do to ensure your essay is a winner is to startbrainstorming early for your essay. Donít wait until the last minute and give yourselftime to put ideas on paper to determine the direction you want your essay to take. After you have brainstormed and determinedthe direction of your essay, you should create an outline. This outline needs to includeeverything you want to write about and laid out in a logical order, leading from one topicto the next fluidly. Your essay should really emphasize your strengths and why you deserve the funding for college sobe sure to concentrate and spend a lot of time. Letters of recommendation are usually requiredfor scholarship applications and are written by faculty in your field of study. This couldbe a previous professor, or teacher who can really speak to your qualifications in academia.Sometimes they are written by supervisors or colleagues in your career field who canspeak to your character and work ethic. If this letter isnít required, a list of referencesmost likely will be. Here you can list two or three of the same type of references asin the letter of recommendation. Be sure to include their name, title and contact informationbecause the scholarship committee will contact the

ly so that they can speak to yourqualifications. A resume is usually required as well and isusually important to customize your resume for the scholarship you are applying for.

This can be reflected in the objective and ensure you put the most relevant or impressiveinformation at the top of your resume so thatís the first thing they see and to catch theirattention. Also, be sure to include key words in your resume that are included in the scholarshipdescription or qualifications so that it catches the readerís eye and so they will see youas a qualified applicant. Ensure you add your related accomplishments and qualificationssuch as volunteer work, clubs your associated with, any awards you have received for academiaor other things. Never forget to have a friend or family member proof read your resume beforeyou turn it in. A cover letter is also a great addition to any scholarship application, thesame way you would for any job interview. Lastly, to prove that you are academicallycapable of pursuing higher education, a transcript is usually required. The scholarship applicationwill tell you which type of transcript is required, sometimes it is an unofficial transcript, which you can usually download from your schools website. Or an official transcript may berequired. An official transcript is a little harder to get. It is signed and sealed andthen mailed directly from your school to the scholarship application office, so you willneed to request official transcripts early to ensure they arrive at their destinationwell before the due date. Itís often a good idea to request a few at once, that way youalready have them and so donít have to wait for them later on. To give you a brief synopsis of what we havetalked about today, here is what we have covered: Scholarships are available especially forinternational students, they are out there. The most important thing to consider is toperfect your application to increase your chances of winning. Resources are availableto help you. All of the websites that Jennifer shared are great resources to help you. Also, there are countless resources to help you with resume building, essay writing and everythingelse you may need to create a great application. Ensure you are following us on Twitter @InternationalStudentLoansand because we are going to post some great links to scholarship sources. Now Iím going to hand it over to Bryannato answer some questions, but feel free to continue sending questions on the webinarchat and twitter feed as well. Bryanna:Thank you so much. We have had a few questions come in and we will go ahead and address themnow. Question: ìShould I follow-up on a scholarshipapplication?î Answer: Typically you donít want to bombardthe scholarship committee, so typically only contact them after the deadline if you havenot seen any results as to the winner. This really is the only case you would want tofollow-up on the scholarship application. Question: ìI found a scholarship that requiresme to pay to apply. Is this safe and typical?î Answer: While you want to use caution forscholarships who require payment with the application, as long as you have done yourresearch and ensure itís for a reliable institution, thereís typically no problem with havingto pay a small fee. As Victoria mentioned, some scholarships do require a small fee, typically itís an administration fee. Also, those fees may be added to the scholarshipaward amount. Either way, ensure you do your research before sending any money. Question: ìWhat are keywords?îAnswer: Remember when Victoria was speaking on resumes? That is, if your product is less than 5000 rupees. So you can use HDFC Debit card here You will not be able to Buy that product on Installment or No cost EMI So these two conditions are friends Now it comes that this is not the case here All of these four Bank Debit cards are offered on the product EMI Some of these four banks also have Debit cards Who are eligible for the EMI And some Debit cards are not eligible for EMI. So you have to do this check That your card is eligible for Debit card EMI Or not So how will you check Friends to check here, there are two ways Here is the first way That the Mobile number registered in your Debit card You have to message with that Mobile Number In the message you have to capitalize DCEMI is written And you have to send it to 57575 When you message So long after the message is sent You get an auto generated message from there In which it is mentioned that Your Debit card is eligible for EMI or not. If it is eligible, you can use that Debit card How many rupees can you Buy on the product EMI or No Cost EMI? This amount is also mentioned in the same message So this is friends first way Done with lots of people in it That their message is not sending Message of some people is being sent So there is no message in reply So there is another way for them What to Do in the other way That you should go to Flipkart account You already have to add your Debit card to the card So how will you add To add you to Flipkart You see three lines in the left upper corner You have to click on it After clicking, you have to select the option with My Account. You have to fill the card details Then add the cards there When you add the card And if you have that card eligible So here, First a pop up will open on your Home screen Which will be written Get Debit card EMI & Bank Name So you have to understand from here that Your Debit card is eligible for EMI Same friends if pop up here has not opened Or for some reason you get back from here Your pop-up gets deleted or message is deleted Then the product you want to buy Go to that product page And there are friends who offer section Where the EMI details reside See you there So if your card is eligible there Then there will be an option of Debit card EMI is avaliable So from there you can also know that your card is eligible or not And you can use that card You can buy the product you want to buy Or you can not buy You will also know this from the product page itself. So this is another way Now comes the third way of checking eligibility What happens in it that the product you want to buy You Normally Buy that product Buy Now , Checkout , Address Select And come to the payment gateway Friends here at the payment gateway

Flipkart & Amazon big billion day

You will see all the options to pay Which will be the option of EMI Below that, the Debit card EMI available on And the Bank name will be written So here your bank whose card will be eligible The Name of that bank will be So that you will know which of your Bank's Debit card EMI is eligible for So how is this Notification coming here If you have added the card or not Still this Notification will come It is not that you have to add a card to this Flipkart account. Or Do not have to add card Or have to checkout nothing If you have your card, it will show the Notification on here Here friends condition That if your Flipkart account has Mobile Number and EMail-ID register The same Mobile Number & Gmail-ID is also registered in the Bank Only then the Notification below will be shown So from here also you can know which of your card is eligible And which card is not eligible So now it comes that if your card is eligible So How will you buy any product here on Debit card EMI You don't have much to Buy friends Normally the way you select a product Click on BUY NOW or ADD TO CARD, Checkout Enter the Address select & Come on Payment gateway Friends there if your card is added Then there you will see your card at the top But if your card is not added So Normally you have to select the option of EMI EMI option when you are selected and your card will be added So here you will see three options Standard EMI , No cost EMI & Debit card EMI So here if friends Debit card EMI, No cost EMI will be going on too Then No cost EMI friends below You will get Debit card written with Bank Name Then you have to understand that There is also a Debit Card EMI Debit Card EMI is offering you No Cost EMI But if No cost EMI, Debit card EMI is not running on Then what will happen is that a separate section will come here Debit Card EMI tops And your Bank card will be eligible The Name of that Bank will come You have to click on it Then there will come to select Tenur That is, for how many months you want to Buy this product on EMI So you want to Buy there for the months He has to select At the same time, friends, you get interest on EMI amount there Both will remain EMI Amount means How much money you have to pay for each month In this Product If you buy on installment then And there is interest next to it That is your product price How many percent has been interest This will also be told on you So this is your EMI Amount friends This is the final amount Here the interest is also added to it. You have to get the money deducted from your bank at this amount That is, the automatic will be deducted on EMI payment So here friends, you have to select Tenur For the month you want to buy Then have to continue Then here if you already have that card So there will be pay card shows You can pay by filling the CVV number. But if your card is not add So here, there will be an option of add new card also You have to click on it There will be an option to fill the card details You have to fill your card details So the way this saved card is seen again That too will look like saved card So you have to fill the CVV number again here And have to continue Then there will be a otp on your register mobile number You will fill that otp here Submit here & your order will be placed And thus friends a few days later The way Normal delivery takes place of any product In the same way, this product will also reach your home. And then you can use it So now, when the money is deduct here When ordering from a bank account How much money would you have deducted Friends when ordering from a bank account Some banks have 1 rupees deducted And in some banks they are also not deducted. o rupees is the deducted here, your payment completes You also get that product You also use it After that your EMI deduction starts So when is this EMI deducted How will you pay for the installment What happens here friends What Date do you order After the Date which is going to come on the 5th On that day, your first EMI is deducted That is, like you order on the 3rd of the month So 2 days later your 5th is coming So 2 days after 5 date your first EMI Automatic Deduct will be done from your account Same friends if you order on the 6th So the 5th is left behind So what will happen now that the 5th of the next month is coming He will get your first EMI pay on 5th That is, after placing the order Which ever is the first 5 date That day will be your first EMI deducted And after that on every 5th of regular Your second, third, fourth total EMI deductions will continue this way. And thus friends For the month you buy this product on installment Your EMI is deducted for that month Automatic from your account And finally friends, your payment completes So guys here you have to pay more attention to one thing This is the date of the 5th Many times it changes with many cards. So what you need to do is place the order In the first EMI that you have to pay amount That amount has to be deposited in your bank And you have to take care What date is your EMI Deduct The Date on which your EMI deducted Your EMI will be deducted on that date every month. That is, your payment date You have to take care of him And before that date Every month You have to deposit your EMI amount. And then the way your EMI installation is done That way, these automatic deduct will continue Now it comes that a lot of people have said here That their card is not showing the debit card EMI eligible So why is this happening This is mainly two region The first region is when people come to know about Flipkart EMI. Then the bank checks here Which bank is getting an EMI? And they go to the bank Open your bank account Issue his debit card And try to buy the product installation from that debit card Because of which their debit card Here does not specify eligible for EMI And then they complain here That their debit card is not saying that it is eligible for EMI So friends, your debit card should be 5 to 6 months old. Only then, the banks will declare you eligible for the debit card. Friends is the second region is CIBIL score If your CIBIL score does not good So here you Do not get debit card EMI On any of your debit cards You will not get Debit card EMI facility So here you have to keep in mind the CIBIL score as well Together friends here, this is the work of Eligible and Non-Eligible They don't see flipkart This work is done by the bank The bank which also has a debit card Those banks also check your eligibility So friends here on your bank account So friends here at the bank, the average balance of your bank account And also see average transaction amount What is the regular average balance in your bank And how much do you transfer So here you have to pay attention also To keep regular money in your bank account And also keep doing the transaction If you take care of all these three things If you take care of these three things That is Civil Score , Average balance & time If you take care of these three things So your debit card will become eligible very soon And then you can use that debit card You can buy any product from Flipkart on EMI

have you ever dated or thought about living the rich and luxurious lifestyle now I know everyone has seen those Instagram posts where users put up pictures of a couple thousand dollars in cash laying on their bed next to some really cool guns or a Lamborghini with the doors propped open in their driveway the truth is at one point we have all imagined ourselves in a world where we have financial freedom to buy almost anything we wanted so why do we get these dreams of having a mansion with a Lamborghini parked in the driveway or even touring the whole world on a vacation in fact kids and adolescents are more likely to daydream about being rich and famous than adults are this is because they can experience more identities and life possibilities more potential as adults while adults tend to daydream more realistically nowaday dreaming itself is a pretty big investment as we spend up to half of our mental activity on daydreams or predicting the future if that's what you want to call it when we drift off into the daytime dreamland we are slightly detached from our current situations and when we daydream about being rich it is because these fantasies reflect a need to rise above our frustrations of our own lives but what if it was really real what if you actually owned a huge mansion with a Lamborghini and had bedrooms full of cash with our behavior change after having all this money in this video I want to present you four ways money affects our minds the first one money motivation many studies suggest that money can alter a person's behavior but not always for the good side luckily there are many grateful wealthy people that donate huge portions of their piggy banks for good causes but this is sometimes an exception our thoughts behaviors and actions link to our psychology including factors from the way that you were raised - even genetics money may not control your beliefs but it definitely influences your attitudes and behaviors towards others in a study to find the motivations to complete a given task there were three groups of subjects these three groups were given the sweat breaking task and moving circles from one side of a computer screen to the other side the first group was asked to complete the task as a favor the second for only 50 cents and the third for a whopping five dollars the end results suggested that there are two reasons for motivation to complete a given task social motivation was found as a first motivator because when we recognize a tasks social value we see the to do it as they were the investment getting three friends to talk us up in front of a girl or having your parents boast about your test scores are great examples of social motivation however when money is brought into the table and returned for the completion of a task we tend to think more about the business value of a deal rather than the social side of it is mowing a yard for five dollars worth it how about five hundred dollars this may lead to some serious problems in one's work life if you feel underpaid you may be at risk who underperforming in the

They are going to work wise since you're paying the minimum wage on to number two self-perception the amount of money you bring in could affect the way you view others and in fact even yourself up until this point you probably did not think about breathing because you had plenty of oxygen you didn't have to worry about where you were going to get your next breath the same idea with money if you have tons of money you spend less time less worrying about where you're going to get it and this has crazy psychological effects on our behavior one study asked individuals to rate things such as their income class genetics and even IQ levels the results were eventually analyzed and produced the result of an individual's sense of class essentialism the wealthier the respondent the deeper the sense of class essentialism the individual possessed wealthy respondents were found to believe that class was based on genetics the same respondents also believed that life was fair and that you get what you deserve however those belonging to a lower class leave class and wealthiness has nothing to do with genetics of course someone who has to work 50-hour weeks to bring home two thousand dollars a month is going to think of themselves a lot differently than someone who works ten hours a week for fun and is relying on their parents trust fund money I'm the number three money cravings addiction begins with a perceived positive response to a specific behavior chasing the same behavior for the same response might trigger an addiction some people have become addicted to earning money I am sure that at least one point in your life you have received at least a rather large amount of money to fill up that empty wallet that you once had whether you work for it or not think about that feeling you had when Walla is full of money it feel good to have money in your pockets I'm sure it did this good feeling or positive response could lead to an addiction this is why some people become workaholics also compulsive shopping follows the same process when a compulsive shopper buys something their brain releases dopamine the famous feel-good chemical this positive response leads to a person chasing the behavior more and more and to feel more positive response thus leading to addiction these addictions like any other has the potential to become dangerous the want for money may become dangerous if you begin to perform illegal or dangerous acts to get money compulsive shopping can also become dangerous when you put yourself or others at risk if you spend more Bank than you bring in people who want a large amount of money in a lottery often fall to this simply because they didn't earn it and with earning money comes trials and successes of learning how to manage the money successfully the last one is morals and ethics who is more likely to not follow the rules whether it's interrupting someone or taking more than one piece of candy when the candy bowl clearly says only take one piece of candy or even click the like button if you enjoyed this video one study set out to find an answer respondents that found themselves at a higher class were more likely to break the rules as long as it benefited them the what do I have to gain from it mindset is often more possessed by those who have a higher wealth class they pursue the most benefits for themselves making them great for the business industry so does business and/or money have much room for ethics some people say no that's why when you find someone with both they make history I'm curious who you think had morals and money leave a comment below of someone that comes to your mind so after further review there seems to be a parent correlation between wealthiness and selfishness also if you have more wealth you are apparently more likely to bend the rules from time to time to benefit your favor according to some studies on the other hand there are also some studies that show a correlation between poverty and crime just understand that correlation does not mean causation having more money could also make you believe that you were rich just from your genetics and that you deserve to be rich so yes money does have the potential to change someone money can even make a person go crazy with an addiction from impulse buying to buying the whole store I hope you guys enjoyed this video and if you did subscribe for more thanks for watching you

How to become smart?

How to become smart?

How to become smart?

Hey guys! Chronicle living here! And todayI'll be going over three powerful techniques to increase your IQ which aresimple ways to become smarter! In the past, not very long ago, it was believedthat your brain's intellectual capacity and your IQ was fixed when you reachedadulthood. It went as far as that by age 7, your brain's fate was determined forthe rest of your life. Glad to say that has been proven false withmore and more scientific research and studies done when we discoveredsomething called neuroplasticity. If you break that word down neuro meansrelating to nerves or the nervous system and plasticity means the quality ofbeing easily shaped or molded. So then the full definition of neuroplasticityis the ability of the brain to form and reorganize somatic connectionsespecially in response to learning or experience or following injury. Thisdiscovery showed us if we can get our brains to form new neural connections, your intellectual quotient also known as IQ can possibly increase as well brainplasticity is a common term used by neuroscientist referring to the brain'sability to change at any age for the better or the worst. What we discoveredis gray matter in our brains can actually shrink or thicken and so neuralconnections could be forged and refined or weakened and severed. You heard of thesaying use-it-or-lose-it right? Much like a muscle, not working out can lead to adecline in the brain's ability to use several neural pathways which can leadto things like memory decline and decline in cognitive functions. But whathas been found is that under the right circumstances, the power of brainplasticity can help adult minds to grow! Again, in this vide,o we'll be going overthree powerful training techniques you could do anywhere that can help you toincrease your IQ which means will help you become smarter. Now let me say thisbefore we begin. Doing these techniques for a short time only is not going tochange you. It's gonna require time and patience exactly like working out youcannot go hard on week one and slack off week 2 and week 3 you're back to squareone. with nothing. In order to see greatresults these trainings have to be done at least five times a week. Even thoughI'll be showing you three different trainings, you still have the choice ofchoosing one or doing them all. Just as long as you can stay long-term with theplan and do them every day, you can find amazing results. Technique number one. Oneof the most important findings of recent neuroplasticity research is thediscovery of how closely our senses are connected to memory and cognition andthis specific training will aim just at that. It is called image streaming. It isbelieved that on average we produce 50,000 thoughts a day! If I tell you toimagine right now an elephant flying with a balloon high up in the air, youprobably already pictured it in your mind. Something like this right? This isessentially like active daydreaming. Daydreaming except you're conscious andactive while doing it. So what I mean is you're gonna use your mind's eye to seewhat you picture in your head and this is where you're gonna use imagestreaming. You'll have to begin to use your mind's eye to start describing whatyou see in full details. Of course I recommend to close your eyes while doingthis and also it's important that you're gonna want to describe out to yourselfwith your own voice what you're seeing in as much detail as possible, so let's usethe elephant example again. Right now I see a checkered black and whitelighthouse and a giant white moon in the gray sky with dark circular craters. NowI see a grey elephant floating with a hot air balloon that's black with orangestripes in a slow forward motion towards the blue ocean. See how I actually madeit simple and described it in details? Oh wait. That's only one-fifth of thetechnique four more parts of the technique? But don't worry it's not thatcomplicated. You're just gonna have to describe out with your voice the nextfour senses of what you're sensing such as sound, smell, touch, and taste. So goingback to the image stream, I'm gonna say I hear the ocean waves and the seagulls,I smell the mists of the ocean, I feel how the elephant has a leatherylike skin, the lighthouse tastes cold and dull. When we image stream, we're lettingthe visual image to be the doorway to many areas of our brain. The greater ofthe association of the areas of the brain that we're using with all fivesenses involved in the visual image, the greater amount of the brain is beingused for that visual image. So instead of accessing only one or two areas of ourbrains when we think, the brain is accessing more areas when we aredescribing the image. In the image streaming technique with all five senseswe are allowing the brain areas of the individual senses to become enlargedthat it's increasing the depth and the scope of the brain being used. So theschedule of this is you're gonna want to do this for at least 45 minutes to amaximum of one hour at least five times a week and the results are prettyamazing because what was found is the results start to take notice within twoto four weeks of increased ability to form ideas, reading ability, visualization, intellectual curiosity and concentration span also increased. Doing it longenough in couple months can lead to even greater improvements that some claimthey were able to achieve photographic like memory from this consistenttraining. The next training technique is a more of a passive type training thatdoesn't require as much effort as the first one. This one is called brainharmonics. The idea is your brain operates with certain wavelengths thathas bees such as Delta Theta beta which are programmed in certain sounds, brainharmonics is a technology which has been around for close to a hundred years. However the technology has gone through many changes, innovations, anddevelopments. In many ancient civilization, the use of drums in arhythmic and melodic way was useful for creating hypnotic and trance-like states. The rhythmic use of brainwave is what has been allowed for the changes to takeplace in our brains, so in modern brain harmonics, the effects come due to theuse of tones and certain specific wavelengths within a sound and neuronsmay able to grow with an active mental workout while you'relistening to this audio and doing something like math homework. So ifyou're gonna listen to this the schedule is you're gonna have to do this at leastfour times a week at least thirty minutes with headphoneson. You could search binaural beats or brain harmonics on the web andexperience it yourself and the third final technique is a more of a fun oneand a little bit unexpected and that is juggling. Juggling? You heard me right.Juggling there's been studies on how juggling has shown to cause certainareas of your brain to grow for example there's been experiment where as Germanresearchers divided 24 non jugglers in two groups and they assigned one groupto juggle 30 minutes a day. The scientists performed brain scans on thevolunteers using MRI before and after they learned to juggle. The researcherswere then able to investigate changes in the brain gray matter, the area of thebrain that consists mostly of cell bodies of neurons rather than theconnective fibers. The study found that the volunteers that did not train tojuggle showed no difference in their brain scans over the three-month period. However those that did juggle for 3 months straight demonstrated an increasein gray matter in two areas of the brain which involved visual and motor activity. It appears it as showed improved connection in the parts of the brainthat involves movements necessary to catch the balls so it is possible thatjuggling improves hand-eye coordination, reflexes, peripheral vision, and a host ofother motor skills. All right that is all for now! Also there's a video I made thatwent over my top 5 supplements for increasing brain power! Feel free toclick up on the video card to check it out. As always, subscribe if you haven'talready and click that Bell notification so I can annoy you about a new video! Thanks once again and I'll see you guys later!

How to increase mamory power. Here you will find out all about.

 Process to increase mamory power

Process to increase mamory power

So think about this: Nowadays, a lot of peopleare obsessed with a healthy lifestyle. They eat wholesome food, workout at the gym,and all that jazz. But they tend to forget that our brain needsexercise too. Especially if you've started having memorylapses more often. Um, what did I just say? Oh yeah. So, if people keep saying you have the memoryof a goldfish, don't fret! Just try these simple brain exercises to helpyou out.

1. Read books aloudIn 2017, the University of Waterloo conducted an experiment where they asked 95 participantsto read silently, listen to someone else read, listen to a recording of themselves reading, and read out loud in real-time. Later, participants were required to repeatwords they read. It turned out, the word recall was greatestin the group that read aloud to themselves. When you speak and hear yourself speakingat the same time, it helps the brain to store the information. You can practice this exercise with your friendor a child. Also, you can try to switch to audiobooks. Listening to them engages the imaginationand brain regions in a different way than silent reading.

 2. Switch hands during daily activities. Only 1% of the world population doesn't havea dominant hand. Everyone else uses either the right one orleft one to write, cut food, paint and so on. But if you try to switch to your “otherhand”, it’ll strengthen neural connections in your brain, making your mind and memorysharper. Use your opposite hand while brushing yourteeth, cleaning, or washing the dishes. But, hey, please don’t try this exercisewhile you’re driving, or doing brain surgery! It might seem really hard the first time youdo it, but it’ll give your brain the perfect kind of stimulation by adjusting. Just keep practicing this exercise regularly!

Process to increase mamory power

3. Elevate your heart rate 3 times a week. Regular aerobic exercise may increase thesize of the hippocampus—no, that’s not the University of Hippo –it’s the partof the brain responsible for transforming information into new memories. A study published in 2011 backs up the ideaabout the positive impact working out has on our memory. According to it, aerobic exercises that pumpup your heart rate help the brain store long-term memories. But even if breaking a sweat at the gym isn’texactly your thing, you can just take a brisk walk for 20 minutes, 3 times a week and stillget the same effect!

4. Eat with chopsticks. It’s one of the most effective ways to makeyour brain perform better. And here’s how it works: using chopsticksgrows new dendrites, which are extensions of nerve cells. They help to transmit impulses from cell tocell. This means that these dendrites have a positiveimpact on communication between brain cells. What’s more, involving the concentratedareas of nerve cells in your fingertips in this activity boosts the circulation in thebrain. And, as a bonus, switching to chopsticks improvesyour digestion and helps control calorie intake. Because it’s so hard!

 5. Wear earplugs. Blocking a major sensory route by wearingplugs helps revive the way our brain functions. Because when we go about our day, we onlyhalf-listen, since we know what to expect. Experiencing the world without sound is agreat booster for our cognitive abilities, including memory. You can try this technique, for example, duringa family breakfast. But don’t forget to warn your family aboutit, or they’ll think you’ve decided to ignore them for no reason. Huh?

6. Create word pictures and puzzles. This is, hands down, the easiest exercisethat you can perform anywhere, like when you’re in public transport or waiting in the lineat a grocery store. Think of any word you like and visualize itsspelling in your head. After you’re done with this task, try tocome up with any other words (as many as you can) that begin or end with the same 2 lettersof your first word. This kind of mind game challenges your brainto stay active and sharp.

 7. Do the 4 detail observation exercise. This is what scientists call “passive memorytraining.” You can practice it while you’re out andabout. All you have to do is observe any 4 detailsabout someone you encounter during the day and then recall them later. Let’s say, the barista who made your coffee. He or she could have had deep dark hair, agold watch, a beauty spot on their right cheek, and a yellow t-shirt on. Start with noticing these little details onjust one person a day, and gradually increase that number, or add more details to remember. The thing is, while we go about our day, wedon’t observe as much as we should, failing to receive information. Besides, being more observant of the peoplewho surround you is a great social skill.

 8. Blast some tunesIf you have to cram for an exam or read and remember some stuff that’s related to yourwork, you’d better do it with pleasant background music. Listening to music helps our brain to retaininformation. It’s best to make a playlist with some instrumentalmelodies you like, since songs with lyrics might hinder the process of remembering. If you’re a real fan of music, considerlearning to play an instrument. This kind of activity not only enhances yourmemory, but also helps relieve stress, and makes you smarter!

9. Clench your fistIt’s as simple as that! In 2013, psychologists from Montclair StateUniversity carried out an experiment. Their findings suggest that clenching theright hand for 90 seconds helps in memory formation. If you do the same with your left hand itcan improve your memory recall. In the mentioned experiment, 50 adults wereasked to remember words from a long list. The word recall was higher for those participantswho carried out these movements. The researchers believe that clenching a fisttriggers specific brain regions responsible for memory processing.

 10. DoodleRemember how you sometimes started to sketch during a school lesson? Turns out, doing this helps you store theinformation you hear! And in 2009, researchers from Cambridge decidedto prove it. A group of 40 participants was asked to listento a recorded tape that described a short story about a party. Also, half of the participants were told todoodle whatever they wanted on a piece of paper while listening to the tape. After the listening was over, all 40 membersof the experiment had to remember the names of people and places mentioned in the story. The doodlers recalled 29% more informationthan those who didn’t draw. Researchers explained these results by thefact that when we listen to something, we tend to daydream, and daydreaming distractsus from grasping the information. A simple task, like doodling, is efficientenough to stop the daydreaming, making us more perceptive of audial information.

 11. Have a good laugh. Ah, this is my favorite one! If you keep forgetting where you’ve putyour keys or phone, maybe all you need is a short giggle sesh. At least, this is what the results of a 2012experiment carried out at Loma Linda University suggest. Researchers had two groups of participants, with an average age of 74. The first group had to watch a 20-minute comedy;the other one – humorless video. Laughter helps lower levels of cortisol - thestress hormone which can have a negative impact on the University of Hippocampus. Heh heh. Shocking facts about India

Long ago, when giant lizards roamed the Earthand Netflix wasn’t around, the Asian continent got crashed into by an unexpected visitorthat ended up being a life-long neighbor. Uh, come again? Hey, I’m talking about India and its fascinatinghistory since its days as a massive piece of land floating in the ocean! Counting down from… 9. Advanced Surgery from Ancient TimesIf you think plastic surgery is a modern convenience, you’re up for a big surprise. India had it covered more than 2,500 yearsago, way back in the 6th century B.C.E.! Somewhere around that time, there lived anoutstanding doctor by the name of Sushruta. He’s called one of the founding fathersof surgery and for good reason: his Sushruta Samhita is a real gem of a book. It covers over 1,100 diseases, all kinds ofmedicinal plants, and dozens of surgical procedures. But what’s probably the most jaw-droppingthing about the book is that it also described surgical reconstruction of the nose! So basically, if you lived in ancient India, you could get yourself a nose job! Ok, maybe it wasn’t the rhinoplasty we knowtoday (with anesthesia and all), but that’s still impressive! 8. The First Diamond DealerUp until the early 18th century, India was the only source of diamonds in the world. According to the Gemological Institute ofAmerica, these precious stones were first discovered and traded in the 4th century B.C.E. Of course, industrial mining and diamond processingwas out of the question back then, so India only had a limited supply of them. That was okay, though, because the demandwas equally limited: only the wealthiest could afford such a luxury. Since then, countries like Russia, Botswana, and the Democratic Republic of Congo have taken the lead in diamond production. But the fact is, a country known for its loveof gold also had bragging rights for maintaining a diamond monopoly for almost a thousand years. Ooh, fancy! 7. One of the Earliest CivilizationsCivilized urban life as we know it dates back about 5,000 years in India. Well, fine, they didn’t have central heatingor anything (not that they needed it), but the Indus Valley Civilization was still amongthe most advanced out there in the ancient world. The Ancient History Encyclopedia says that,by 2600 B.C.E., dozens of towns and cities belonged to that civilization. And I must say, they had quite a comfy lifefor their time! Houses had bathrooms and wells, and everycity had a drainage system. Social conditions were also way better thanin other civilizations at the time. On top of that, the ancient Indians had aseriously mysterious writing system that scientists still can’t decipher to this day. Who knows what wonders these ancient textshide?... 6. A Civilization Ahead of Its TimeSpeaking of better social conditions, during the Vedic period, which lasted from about1500 to 500 B.C.E., the Indian society was probably the most equal in the known worldat that time. Although it was still patriarchal, women gota lot of respect, could become sages and seers, received an equal education with men, andenjoyed all kinds of rights. There was no such thing as arranged marriageback then — that only appeared much later. And political debates were rarely held withoutwomen giving speeches, and men were wise to listen to their words! (Hear that, fellas?) I guess you could call the Vedic period thegolden age of India’s history! 5. The Most Important NumberAnd what do you think that might be? We’d be in big trouble without this mostimportant number! Ok, enough riddles: I’m talking about zero! The concept of “zero” and the rules ofits use were first invented in India at around the 7th century C.E. Before that, the idea of “nothing” hadn’teven been treated as a number. It was no more than an empty space between“real” numbers. I suppose people just didn’t see the convenienceof it yet? Like every time I look at my bank accountafter I pay my bills. Yeah, “convenience”… 4. Clean HairHas the word “shampoo” ever struck you as odd? Say it out loud a few times, and you’llsee what I mean. Well, it might sound foreign to you becauseit probably is. Not unless you’re from India, and in thatcase, thanks for the word! Yes, “shampoo” is derived from the Hindiword “champo,” which means “to massage” or “knead.” And the first mention of this “head kneading”was by Greek historian Strabo back in the 4th century B.C.E. At the time, shampooing was only common toIndians: they massaged their heads with various herbs and extracts and then washed them offwith water to keep their hair clean. The practice of using shampoo didn’t cometo Europe until a thousand years later, in the early 19th century.
Shocking facts about India

Looks like it took long enough to catch up! 3. Math and Astronomy GeniusIn ancient India, mathematics and astronomy had been two major disciplines since 1500B.C.E. or even earlier. But arguably one of India’s greatest mindslived in the 5th century C.E. His name was Aryabhata, and he wrote a treatiseon astronomy that became a foundation for many later studies. Despite using a geocentric model of the solarsystem, which showed the sun and moon revolving around the Earth, Aryabhata presented manyideas that are still used today. For example, he calculated the length of theyear almost to the minute, found the value of Pi, and explained that the moon and planetsshine because of sunlight reflecting off of them. Not bad for the 5th century! 2. The Guru of GamesDo you play chess? Even if you don’t, you know what it is. But did you know that its ancestor was bornin India too? The ancient game was called chaturanga, andit appeared at around the 6th century C.E. Nobody knows the exact rules of the game, but judging by its appearance, it’s safe to assume it had a lot in common with chessand similar games (like the Japanese “shogi,” for instance). Another classic board game is Snakes and Ladders. It’s not really known where and when itfirst appeared, but most say it comes from the 13th-century Indian game called Mokshapat. The idea was to teach kids about vice (inthe form of snakes) and virtue (the ladders). Hey, you up for a game? Oh, nevermind, I’ve got one more tidbitto share with you… 1. Humble Island BeginningsIndia wasn’t always a “subcontinent.” In the era of dinosaurs, over 100 millionyears ago, it was actually an island! It had broken off from a supercontinent andslowly but steadily traveled north, arriving to its present-day location in just about50 million years. The dinosaurs had already gone extinct bythen, though, so they didn’t get to see what happened next. The giant Indian Island collided with Asiain a colossal continental boom. The impact was so hard, in fact, that theHimalayas were formed almost in an instant! Yep, that’s how the youngest mountain chainin the world appeared
Shocking facts about India

Actually, India, now a subcontinent, is stillslowly pressing northward, making Everest… grow! Basically, the highest peak on the planetis now a few millimeters (or even centimeters) taller than last year, which, come to thinkof it, makes it harder and harder for alpinists to get to the top! Uh-oh, better cross that one off your bucketlist sooner than later! Do you know any other shocking facts aboutIndia’s history? Let me know in the comments below! Top 11 difference between debit and credit card
Hello dear reader and cybernaut. On this occasion we will know the main differences between credit and debit. Both terms are similar and although people do not know it, we all use credit and debit. Financially speaking, it is important to know the differences between the two, since the misuse of any of them causes people to become indebted and have financial problems. Next we will describe 11 differences between credit and debit. And stay until the end of the video since we will answer the question: which one is better ?, credit or debit? According to our criteria. Some people get confused about the difference between credit and debit, and this should be because credit and debit cards are accepted in many places. Both treat convenience and eliminate the need to bring cash, they even look the same. The main distinction between debit and credit card is based on the fact that debit cards are always related to the balance that the client has in his bank account, while the credit account allows to operate with money provided by some financial institution. Meaning of the credit. The credit or credit agreement is a monetary operation in which an individual or the creditor grants a loan for a specific amount of cash to another person, the debtor.

The latter, the debtor, undertakes to return the requested amount, in addition to the payment of accrued interest, insurance coverage and associated costs, if applicable, within the time or term defined in accordance with the conditions established for the established loan. Meaning of the debit. The debit is a record that serves to validate that the payment or option of a responsibility or arrangement of a service or product has been made. Receipts are written files that may be public, although most of the time they are personal, in which the lender or creditors of an obligation specifically acknowledge having received cash or otherwise from the debtor or solvents. It requires the expression of the date, the signature of the recipient, the reference of the amount or classification of the important things and the title of the responsibility, so that it is not confused with the credit or loan. Credit and debit cards. Many debit and credit cards have similar characteristics. Typically, both cards carry the logo of one of the major credit card companies, such as Visa or MasterCard, and both can be transferred to retailers to purchase goods and services. Speaking in accounting terms, since these two are being used at the same time, it is important to understand where each one is in the ledger. Keep in mind that most business accounting software keeps the account plan flowing in the background and, in general, looks at the ledger. The debits increase the balance of dividends, expenses, assets and losses, the accounting must record the debits to the left in the ledger column. Loans increase the balance of earnings, income, passive income and stockholders' equity. The credits are recorded to the right. Difference number 1. Where does the money come from? Debit cards extract money directly from your checking account when you make the purchase, they do so by withholding the purchase amount. A credit card is a card that allows you to borrow money against a line of credit, also known as the credit limit of the card, for which you are billed at a later date. Difference number 2: Interest payment. With a debit card you will not pay interest for your purchases. With most credit card companies, a customer has 30 days to pay before interest is charged on the outstanding balance. Although in some cases, interest begins to accrue immediately and can be notoriously high. It is one of the main ways in which credit card companies earn money. Payment on time and in full will helps to avoid interest and final rates and maintain or even improve your credit score. Difference number 3. How is the payment ?. Through a debit card the merchant sends the transaction to his bank and is transferred to the merchant's account. Depending on the amount of the purchase and your bank, the money will leave your account immediately or be held by the bank for 24 hours or more, the withholding may fall before the transaction is completed. You use the credit card to perform basic transactions, which are then reflected in your invoice; The bank pays the merchant and then you pay the bank when you receive your bill. Difference number 4. Credit history. Your credit history will not be affected by the expense of the debit card. It is worth noting that Through credit card you will be charged interest for your purchases, to avoid paying interest, do not transfer a balance from month to month.

That is, get used to paying on time. Credit cards have high interest rates, paying before the payment deadline and your payment history can affect your credit history. Difference number 5: Additional expense. Debit cards make it more difficult to spend too much, since it is limited only to the amount available in your checking account. Unless a checking account comes with an overdraft, debit card users can only spend the money available in their account. With a credit card, you run the risk of spending beyond your means. Difference number 6: Differences in accounting. Debits and credits are used to control incoming and outgoing money in your business account. In a simple system, a debit is money that goes out of the account, while a credit is money that goes in. However, most companies use a double entry system for accounting. This can create some confusion for inexperienced business owners, who see the same funds used as credit in one area, but as debit in the other. Difference number 7: Money that goes out and money that goes in. Debit accounts are money that goes out of the account; increase the balance of dividends, expenses, assets and losses. Credits are money that goes into the account; Increase the balance of earnings, passive income and stockholders' equity, as long as it is investment oriented. Difference number 8: What is the limit ?. A debit card can come with an overdraft line of credit connected to a customer's checking account to cover excessive spending. A credit card has a specific amount of connected credit, and if a consumer tries to spend beyond the credit limit, the card will be denied. Depending on the solvency of its owner, a credit card may have a high or a lower spending limit. The bank decides your credit limit based on your credit history. When you use a credit card, the purchase amount is automatically added to your outstanding balance. Difference number 9: Help in an emergency. Credit cards can help you cover it in an emergency, giving you a month to get the cash before the bill expires. This could be useful if you have to pay for something big before you can cash a check. Depending on the credit for emergency expenses, it generates expensive interest if you cannot pay the full amount before the due date. A better solution is to have an emergency fund. For people who try to budget or not extend too financially, a debit card linked to a checking account may be a better option than a credit card. Some debit cards are prepaid, and a financial institution charges the funds on the card. These cards can be used in the same way as a standard issued debt bank card. However, prepaid cards are just that, prepaid, and are not linked to a person's checking account. Difference number 10: Debt instruments. By definition, all credit cards are debt instruments. Every time someone uses a credit card for a transaction, the cardholder is only borrowing money from a company, because the credit card user is still required to pay the credit card company. Debit cards, on the other hand, are not debt instruments because every time someone uses a debit card to make a payment, that person is really just logging into their bank account. With the exception of the costs of related differences, the debit user does not owe money to any outside party; The purchase was made with their own funds available. Difference number 11: Bonding. A standard debit card is linked to a checking account, a prepaid debit card is not. A credit card is linked to a line of credit offered by the company that issued the card. Number 12. Protection against fraud. More than a difference this is a common feature between debit and credit. Identity theft and fraud are risks that you should avoid if you choose debit or credit. That's why it's important to know what protections are included with your card. If your credit or debit card information has been compromised, contact your bank immediately. Most banks have a 24-hour hotline that you can call. The earlier you call, the better; You will not be responsible for fraudulent charges made with your ATM or debit card after your report has been lost or stolen. If someone uses their credit or debit card before the report is lost or stolen, their responsibility varies depending on how quickly they report it. After reporting the missing card, follow up with a written statement by letter or email. Carefully analyze your account for charges you have not made and report it to the bank. Check your credit report to make sure your identity has not been stolen. If your credit card was compromised, you can even freeze your credit to help protect against future fraud. Choice of the best card for you. Which is better, credit or debit ?. When trying to determine whether to use a credit card or a debit card, you must be honest with yourself and with your ability to handle the credit. If you have cost problems, it is better to use your debit card whenever possible, to avoid falling under a financial obligation of the credit card. The reality that your credit limit is $ 2,000 does not indicate that you can pay that type of expense in your monthly budget. Choosing the best card to use also depends on the purchase. Using a debit card can be a less headache. However, this system only works in your favor if you pay the full balance on time each month. Debit cards provide exactly the same convenience as credit without requiring you to get money or pay interest or charges for your purchases. Choosing debit is exceptional to manage your money and help you live your way. CAUTION: If you discover a balance, you can save on benefits, however, you will end up paying as much or more in interest. TIP: If you are trying to increase your credit capacity, choose your credit card periodically. Making charges and paying your bill on time will produce a record of responsible and solvent behavior, which is reported to the credit banks and then reflected in your credit report. You should read your credit card disclosure information carefully to understand the benefits. The appropriate ease of your account plan in the accounting software and the thorough observation of which account a debit or credit comes from allows the program to use debits and credits correctly. Which is better? Having described the above, we consider that there are 2 situations for the response of which card is the best debit card or debit card. The answer to this question is accompanied by the answer to another question: Is the expense for an investment? Is the expense for an investment? If the answer to this question is yes, then the use of the credit card is not a bad idea and its use is recommended, provided that you have made the calculations and estimate regarding the risks of your investment and which should be within your possibilities. Although every investment brings benefits even if you lose, since you have the experience and you already know how not to do things. If the answer to the question is no, then it is not recommended to use the credit card, in case the expense is going to be for personal or similar purchases it is definitely recommended to use the debit.
